I was saying the very same thing myself only yesterday and for, I should think, exactly the same reasons.
Sorry to hear that.
it is sad to assess a creature as having no redeeming qualities, then kill it. Cockroaches definitely come into that group with mosquitoes, scorpions, and rattus rattus.
I always feel very bad if I have to flatten a spider with whom coexistence is just not possible.
